As we learned earlier this week, a psychic reading is an energetic exchange between two people. If you have a real need, are personable, friendly and open; a psychic will have no trouble connecting with you and giving you a meaningful reading. But if you are just a curiosity seeker, someone looking to prove a point or smug and doubtful, a psychic will sense this and not be able to access your energy. It is like inviting a friend over but keeping the front door locked once they arrive. Your friend may knock and knock but if you expect them to prove their friendship by walking through solid walls and stand in the middle of your living room... it will just not happen. I have always found that when someone with a legitimate need comes to me for a reading, everything goes extremely well and the reading is awesome. But if someone comes in just for giggles or tries to set me up to fail, (and this does happen believe it or not,) the reading is stiff and labored; almost like pushing through a dense wall. A psychic reading is very much a two way street, you get out of it just what you put into it... and isn't that how most things in the universe work anyway?

Another myth that is common when it comes to psychics is that all psychics operate the same way. The question is often asked by people, "what do you see for me?" The more abrasive person who may not like the way a reading is going may grumble, "you're not psychic at all, I don't think you see anything!" And of course, they would be right, not all psychics "see" things. There are a wide range of gifts that psychic may possess and different ways in which they get their information, which are:

Clairvoyance - This is the gift of "clear seeing" and is the one that most people are familiar with. Someone who is clairvoyant sees pictures, images, visions etc and are the psychics who literally see into the circumstances of your life.

Clairaudience - This is the gift of "clear hearing." Someone who is clairaudient does not see visions or images, but rather hears the information during a reading via an inner voice, spirit guides, angelic beings and so forth.

Clairsentience - This is the gift of "clear feeling." The clairsentient neither sees or hears their information when doing a reading, but rather senses it through an inner knowing or strong intuition.

Mediums - Mediums generally employ the help of spirits in their readings.

Diviners and Fortune tellers - Diviners and fortune tellers generally posses one of the other psychic gifts to some degree, but mostly rely on such things as Tarot cards, Runes etc to obtain their psychic information.

Aura readers - Aura readers have the ability to see the human energy field and do their readings based on the colors of your aura.

Intuits - Intuits are just that, people with incredibly strong and keen intuition. When an intuit does a reading, they generally get strong feelings about situations in your life and have a "knowing" about how things will turn out.

The list could go on and on of the various abilities that psychics have, and some psychics posses more that one of these gifts. But not all psychics read the same way. In the future, it might be a good idea to talk to your psychic about what gifts they possess and get a full understanding about how they read. This will enhance the reading experience for both you and the psychic.

Today we'll talk about the notion that some people have that a psychic should be able to tell you why you came to them for a reading.  Many individuals consider it a bad reading if they have to utter a peep about why they came to a psychic in the first place... but can a psychic tell you why you came to them without you saying a word?

Again, this can happen and if a particular psychic reads the cards, the cards will eventually touch on the main issue at hand. But I have to repeat once again, psychic are not super heroes or gods; they are mostly people with a heightened sense of intuition. Imagine if a friend of yours walked into your home and asked you point blank, "so what's the answer to my problem?" You simply ask, "what problem are you having?" Your friend looks at you with annoyance and says, "you're not a real friend, your a fraud! You should know what my problem is without me having to say a word!" Think about it, you would probably think the person was a little off their rocker... And yet this is a situation most psychics face every day at least once or twice.

In reality, a psychic reading is an energetic exchange between two people. The more open and honest you are, the more the psychic will be able to connect with you and see deeper into how your situation will play out. This does not mean that you have to walk into a psychic's office and spill your guts about every detail... but be polite, open and ready to communicate on a person to person basis. If you are smug, doubtful and prepared to play guessing games all day; chances are that the psychic will not be able to connect with you very well, or at all, and the reading will suffer greatly. Remember, a psychic reading is a two way street of giving and receiving. What logical person would walk into their doctor's office and expect him to diagnose them without being willing to tell him/her their symptoms? The principle is pretty much the same when you go to visit a psychic.

This week we are going to delve into the truth about psychic readings and what they entail. So many people have strange and Hollywood inspired ideas about what a psychic is and what they can do... So let's unmask some of these myths and see what a psychic really is and what their capable of doing and not doing. Today, we will start with the timeline: Can a psychic really tell you the exact date when something will happen?

Many people believe that psychics are superheros. They truly believe that when they go for a reading that the psychic can see through time and space, and tell them the exact day when an event will occur. In all honesty, this can happen at times but for the most part, timelines are nothing more than guess work and fluff to make a client feel better at the moment. This is why so many psychics get in trouble or clients lose faith in psychic readings because the timeline fails to manifest, and this can have disastrous effects on both the psychic and the one who is seeking help through a reading. The truth of the matter is; most psychics can tell you what the outcome of a situation will be... but to tell you (WHEN) is something that an honest and ethical psychic will not venture into.

I have seen some very talented psychics start jumping into timelines with clients, and it begins to hurt their business and reputation; because although the information they give is ultimately accurate, the timeline often fails more times than not. All of us want to know when relief is in sight when we're going through a rough time. But to ask a psychic to pinpoint exactly when the clouds will pass and the sun will shine again can do more harm than good. Isn't it better to know that happier times are coming and the challenging situation will end soon... rather than get some bogus time frame that falls through and then makes you feel even worse? Failed time frames can cause a person to lose hope and feel that their is no help in sight, after all, the psychic was wrong so what's the use? It is far better to let the psychic tell you what they see over the horizon for you and to have confidence in that, then to push the limits of reality and shipwreck your own faith by asking a human being to be God. A good psychic can tell you what, where, how and even if the outcome is soon or there is going to be a waiting period... but only the Divine knows exactly when.

It doesn't matter whether you celebrate Easter or not this weekend; the main thing is to contemplate its symbols in your own life. The symbols of the rabbit and the egg both predate the Christian Easter and come from pagan origins. They hare and the egg represent fertility and to some cultures the egg also symbolized newness of life. Both of these symbols can also be seen in the story of Jesus Christ: he rose from the dead and offers humanity a chance at new life or new beginning in Spirit. Either way you look at it, the message is pretty much the same. What fertile new dreams are telling you to give them birth right now? What new path or new beginning is in front of you at this moment; or perhaps you would like to make a new start in some area of your life. These are the kinds of things that we should think about at this time of year. And then, like the earth in spring, we should all reach for the light and strive for newness of life.

Eternity begins now, and you are the one who decides if your life is heaven or hell on earth. Many people go through their lives believing that life now and life in the hereafter are two separate things. But the truth is, they are closely interconnected. What you do now will affect what happens there and have ripples that spiral throughout eternity. We cannot bury our heads in the pleasures and business of this material world and think that tomorrow will take care of itself... The earth is a school, we are here to learn certain lessons; it is just not a place where we live and toil for a few years and then pass on when we're old. If this were true, and it is... how would it effect your priorities?

Inner peace: When you have it, no circumstance or person can shake you and you are always content in life. But without it, even the best this world has to offer will somehow seem tainted.

And at the end of the day, with votes all tallied: The winner is.....  I'm all for tradition and keeping things familiar, for the most part; but somehow, this just seems meant to be! Life seemed to be moving in a certain direction and I suppose we all just have to go with the flow. Thanks for the spontaneous voting everyone!

I'm finally back after the break... A family member had surgery and needed some extra time and care; but all is going well and regular, daily life begins to resume. Interestingly, we had some votes come in to take the blog back to the Twilight Grimoire! Seems a good many people liked that title better than the Mind's Eye!!!

So what will the blog be as we get back to blogging? Seems I've opened a can of worms here :-)

Some of you have emailed in and requested that the blog go back to being, "THE MIND'S EYE." It seem it was a popular title that many have grown to love... So here it is, back by popular demand!
And by the way, I have been absent this week on the blog because of family business. I will be back full time on Monday. Until then, have a great week!
