Just a quick note to say that I am alive and well... There was no damage sustained from the storm, except for the power outage; but power came back on a few minutes ago. I hope everyone else made out okay as well... and our prayers are with those who were devastated by this storm.

Peace and Happy Halloween to all who are fortunate enough to celebrate it at all this year.

The sky is dark and grey; the wind howls through the trees and sends cyclones of leaves swirling past my window. The termed Halloween superstorm approaches...

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Just a quick note for you blog readers out there; if you're in the hurricane path, I hope you all make it through safely and with no property damage. As for me, well, I'm just lucky enough to be in the storm's path :-) We should hold up okay here though; but if I go missing on the blog for a while, you know that power has been out in my area. There saying some places could be seven to ten days without power... but let's hope that's not the case.

In other news, hopefully the Halloween book release will go on without any problems. But if the storm causes too many setbacks, the book release will be delayed until everything and everyone is up and running again. There was a three day free promo planned for the book on the day it was released, and we want everyone to have opportunity to take advantage of that. We certainly don't want anyone to miss out because of power outages and so forth. Updates on the book release will be posted on the blog as weather events unfold and power outages allow.

Stay safe and dry everyone and I'll see you on the other side of the Frankenstorm... And also, try to have a Happy Halloween!!!!

If we all huff and puff and blow real hard; maybe we can create enough wind to send hurricane Sandy back out to sea...

When it comes to book publishing, I have noticed that everything goes smoothly until it comes down to crunch time; then all the technical difficulties rise like Halloween specters to haunt you. Yep, I'm being haunted right now; it's time to call Ghost Busters.

Buried beneath e-pages today as the Halloween book release date rushed towards us. Today's blog may be slightly uneventful; or very uneventful if one gets serious about the matter :-) But it is for a very good reason; if all goes as planned, I will be making an announcement on Friday that I have been wanting to make for a while now.... Certain things may finally be coming to light, stay tuned!

Earthquakes rock the world, the sun turns a pale yellow and strange weather patterns ensue. The inhabitants of planet earth believe that the apocalypse is near; but the end of the world does not occur in a way in which anyone would suspect. When the ground opens up and the corpses of the dead rise up and begin to feed on the living, a new kind of terror is born upon the dying earth.
In the midst of all the horror, Sam Jordan and his wife Angel travel the desolate roads in order to take refuge with Sam's family in Greenville, New York. But upon arriving home, the dead are not the only threat as Sam's abusive father, Willard, begins to place increasing demands upon his trapped family. As a religious fanatic, Willard believes that an event known as the rapture will occur at any moment; thus he demands that his family convert to his religion or be exiled into the dismal world outside where the dead await their next feast of human flesh. The Jordan household then becomes a prison where reason is abandon and freedom of choice is not an option for any who may wish to dwell there.
"I am a big fan of the zombie genre; but when I wrote the Rapture of Willard, I wanted to give it a different kind of feel. I didn't want to make it about the typical group of survivors or military personnel trying to rebuild society after the zombie apocalypse. I wanted to trap the reader behind barricaded doors with the characters to experience the events that transpire there. I also didn't want the zombies to be so much in your face as I wanted them to be a looming threat whose presence is felt throughout the story. There has been so much done and so much repeated in the genre, that I just wanted to give a fresh spin that hopefully the reader will enjoy. I'm a stickler when it comes to zombie stories; I want it to have a certain kind of feel. So hopefully I succeeded here in creating a story that will be fun and suspenseful for the audience but also give them that impending doom kind of zombie tale."  Paul James Caiden

Often, we as human beings, look to the outside world to fulfill our needs and make us happy. We look forward to certain times of year, certain events or think we would be better off if we lived in a certain place. There is nothing wrong with these things initially, and it's fine to look forward to certain things. But when we constantly put off our own personal happiness as we await some future event, we cheat ourselves and widdle away our time. Today, the angels wish you to know that everything you need is inside of you; happiness and contentment are states of mind and soul. Thus you have the ability to close your eyes and just take a mini vaction by projecting yourself to wherever you wish to be. When doing this, you will experience the emotions that go with the chosen scene. These emotions are yours and come from within, they are not dependent upon any event or geographical location. Therefore, with a little practice, you can experience true joy, peace and contentment anytime you wish. In the realm of the spirit, to think is to do and to desire something is to have it. Mental and spiritual energies move slower in the material world  beause of the human inclanation to doubt and be too dependent on what we can see, taste, touch and smell. But if we will just let go and trust the higher realms as well as our innate abilities, we will see things happen that will astonish us. Within you is the power; the things on the outside are just ornements that decorate your garden.

The past can seem like an enemy, waiting on the embankments of our minds with swords drawn. Painful memories or feelings of loss can invade our thoughts at a moments notice; and negativity can be an all encompassing emotion that covers our minds like a smothering fog. But today, the angels invite us all to sail to safer shores by realizing that the past is just a land of shadows with no real substance that can harm us. Close your eyes and envision yourself climbing into a boat; then see that boat sailing across peaceful waters, carrying you to a land of light, love and freedom. Once you reach the new and safer shores in your mind, open your eyes. Use this simple visiualization as a symbol that represents your desire to leave the past behind; then focus on who you are now and where you want to go, not on who you were and where you have been. The angels also invite you to focus on them instead of weighing yourself down with burdensome memories. Realize that the angels love you unconditionally and always have; no matter what you have done or gone through. You may even wish to talk to them and unload your sorrows; sometimes it is a great help just to have someone who will listen. A painful past is like a deceiver that tells you it has great power over you. But in reality, it is ourselves that create the chains that bind us to it. The key to freedom is in your hands; loose yourself from the prison of bondage and walk to safer shores with the angels.

Peace and love are the forces that will bridge the gap between all people. Who in this world does not want to be loved, accepted and understood? When you do not judge others, and take the time to say the words, "I understand," it brings down many walls that divide the human race. And on the other hand, peace is created when we accept others for who and what thay are, and do not try to push our ideals and agenda onto them in a forceful way. Think how different the world would be if we all sat down with those who we disagree with and asked them how we might make peace and work together. And think how wonderful it would feel if we then came to a mutual and satisfying agreement that did not compromise each others strongest held beliefs. Communication and honesty are key in settling matters of dispute and tension; and a word spoken in gentlness and love will open hearts that are calloused and closed. Who do you need to make peace with today? Is it a family member, someone at your place of employment, or even yourself? Let peace and love guide you when it comes to healing tense situations. But also remember, sometimes when a person is especially disagreeable and vindictive; the loving thing to do is to just say a prayer for them, give them your blessing and walk away. It is in such times that heaven heals the situation in a way that blesses both parties.

Today is the day to get a new prospective on life. Many times when you face challenges, your mind cycles through the same thoughts, worries and solutions. This is why certain problems seem to resurface every so often. You must gain the new and higher prospective that will cause you to master the unwanted influences and circumstances. Many times, human beings are creatures of habit; taking the same route whenever life presents roadblocks and pitfalls. But if you truly think about it, you will see that there is an easier way. You have all of the wisdom of the Divine available to you, and the love and protection of angels always near you. Nothing is impossible for you, if you will only believe and marry faith to wisdom. There is no need to feel anxious or defeated, the angels are always near and will lift you up if you but ask them. This is the day to release the need to control, reposition yourself, get a new understanding and know that help is always just one prayer away.
Free all this week on - An Angel Came Down

Monday, October 15, 2012

I am very pleased to offer for this weeks free Kindle book, An Angel Came Down. When I decided to write about my experiences with an angelic being, I never thought that I was writing a book that would speak to so many other people about their own lives as well. When I was facing challenges in life or feeling restless because I had unanswered questions, I thought that my challenges were unique and that my own personal problems at the time were so much more complex than that of other people. But through chronicling my angelic encounters, I saw the universal message that applied to us all. And then when I had gotten feedback from people who had read it, I knew that this book was bigger than just me.. This experience speaks to each an every one of us; because when it comes right down to it, we all have much in common at the soul level.

Early in life, author P.J. Caiden began to be haunted by unusual visions and the memory of a home that was not of this earth. Although he longed to return to that mysterious place, he had no idea where it was located. As the years went by, P.J. began to feel very disheartened as he observed the way in which people treated each other. Saddened and distraught by the verbal abuse of his alcoholic father and the cutting words and actions of those around him, P.J. began to ask God for a sign that there really was love and acceptance in this cruel world he was now living in. Then one day, as he sat alone in his room, staring through the window at a gray November sky, the ominous clouds parted and a strange craft emerged from the heavens. Aboard the craft was an unusual girl with large feathery wings protruding out of her back. At first taken back by the bizarre encounter, young P.J. became quickly alarmed when the girl spoke to him telepathically and asked permission to enter the room.

An Angel Came Down recounts the otherworldly events that began to unfold in P.J. Caiden's life when he was just a boy and have continued to reoccur into the present day.

Starting tomorrow, Monday October 15th 2012, we will be having angel week on the blog. Angel week will kick off by offering my book, An Angel Came Down, free on This is one of my favorite books to date that I have authored. It chronicles my own personal angel encounter that has spanned many years and is 208 pages. This book will always have a special place in my heart and my hope in writing it was that it would bring light and courage into the life of the reader. It really is a book for us all and touches on many subjects that deal with the human condition.

Starting on Tuesday, I will be doing an angelic reading on the blog every day while the book is being offered. I think this will be a great way for us all to get in touch with the angelic energies and raise our thoughts to a higher place. I hope you will all get a free copy of the book and be here every day for angel week. I feel this is going to be a very special week...

If one can overcome the fear of death, he/she will eliminate many other smaller fears and gain much peace of mind. If you really think about it, how many of the fears do we have that can be directly traced back to the fear of death and dying. Overcome this fear, and you will overcome much.

I was lazy yesterday and did not blog. I over slept, got a late start on all of my daily chores and am trying to get all the prep work done for this years Halloween party activities. October is usually a busy month and I generally get very little writing done. But this year, I'm going to try and get all the Halloween stuff done, (and there is more to do this year,) and carve out a little time to finish a project. I was hoping to have a short story of the flesh eating zombie kind released by mid October; but not sure now if that will happen. But it's all worth it as I prepare for the greatest holiday ever!

There is still two more weeks of the Oceans of promotions ebook giveaway; so don't forget to check in tomorrow to see what the week's free Kindle book will be.

In halls abandoned
tormented souls roam the dark
nightmares come to life

Friday, October 5, 2012

Halloween is really going to the dogs.

    Moonlight shimmers over the land
giving substance to the cloaks of the restless dead.
Specteral shadows loom in the mist
as the invisible rain pours down
    over their transparent form.
Ink black shadows slither under doors
and stand looming in darkened corners.
    Eyes glazed over with death
peer through windows and watch us in our slumber.
    Decaying hands reach through walls
as something unholy seeks to touch us.

"You never know what's lurking in the shadows."

Heigh-Ho for Halloween

This is a poem from a favorite Halloween children's book I used to get from the school library when I was only in the second grade. The book was entitled Heigh-Ho for Halloween, and can actually be purchased on

I bought a copy of the book last year; it was one of the greatest purchases I ever made! Here is the poem;

Heigh-Ho for Halloween
when all the witches are to be seen
some in black
and some in green
Heigh-Ho for Halloween.
If you remember this book and would like to purchase a copy for yourself; here is the link - And if your an old classmate from Minisink Valley school, you may have taken this out of the library yourself in the earlier grades.

The summer is dead
the earth grows dark and haunted
nightmares come to life

Shower curtain moves
black shape seen through vinyl wall
something not human
The days are ticking down, don't forget to get your free copy of Hallow's Eve...

The devil is only your own fears, doubs and self imposed limitations. If an individual believes that Satan is a separate entity that walks the earth causing havoc; that person will never look within to change the states of mind that keep him bound. Don't be tricked by the idea of thinking that there is some gruesome entity that's out to get you... but treat yourself by knowing that evil manifests when we as human beings think and act wrongly. You have more control over your life than you have been led to believe.

"Seasons don't fear the reaper, nor do the wind, the sun or the rain... we can be like they are."

Summer has ended and the dark time of year has begun; despite what many superstitious people believe about the night, it is a time of serenity and personal power. When the days grow shorter, the world becomes more at peace and the air is less dense with hectic psychic energies. This is the perfect time to get back to meditation, magical rites or any other manifestation technique that suits you. Personal power and change, that is what this month is all about; it is a time to conquer any challenges that hold you back from being your personal best. In this season when Halloween is drawing near, magic and mental energies are at their most powerful, the intentions of those who trod this earth before us have infused this time of year with their spiritual energies. Therefore, there is an abundance of mystical forces to be drawn upon in the month of October. This will help to empower your own rites and rituals as you set out to overcome obstacles that may be standing in the way of you and your higher goals.

This week's free ebook is Hallow's Eve, (Haunted Haiku and Tales For The Witching Hour.) This is one of my favorite haiku books because it features spooky haiku poetry and eerie true tales of hauntings and supernatural encounters. It was a pure joy to write this book and collect the strange tales within its pages; certainly there is a story or two here that will give the best of us goosebumps... and just in time to kick off Halloween month!
