In the Sufi tradition, heaven and hell are not geographical places. They are states, or condition of the Soul's existence, in the life after death. Their descriptions in the Holy books are said to be representations of an inner fact., ie a person's character, state of mind and consciousness. Your inner state of being is paving the way to your experience in the hereafter.
Life on planet Earth is beginning to resemble a scene straight out of a science fiction or apocalyptic movie released by Hollywood. And in the midst of all the calamity, some people just keep pursuing their own selfish needs, desires and agendas. It seems that nothing will stand in their way or make them pause to think! But is this truly the way to happiness and prosperity? Or are these individuals just grasping at shadows in the world of matter and illusion?

What are the attributes of God, and how can they help you overcome in a time of trial or tribulation? What if it were possible to meditate upon, or speak a Divine attribute such as, God is love. And have that statement, that truth move mountains in your life. For centuries, there have been individuals who have contemplated the loving nature of God, and spoke the truth of being according to that loving nature. And the results have been miraculous at times. This is not something that is hard to do, it doesn't take years of training to learn these metaphysical techniques. One could begin practicing them, today.
These are definitely challenging times we are living in right now. Hospitals are overflowing with people sick from covid-19, there are no beds available, and ambulances with the sick and injured are being turned away because there is no more room in the hospitals. Even doctors and nurses are beining to get sick with the virus and some are, sadly, dying. Yet there are so many people who are still in denial. They want to do what they want to do, and look at a simple thing like wearing a mask in public as stealing their rights and their freedom. We have conspiracy cults and white supremacists gathering around the president of the United States, causing more upheaval and division in the country. And unfortunately, the president pulls their strings like a puppet master who is in control. People are fighting, lying, killing, becoming sick, dying and drawing lines in the sand as they make personal declaration of war on the rest of society... when we do all of these things, we are the ones digging the hole deeper. We are the ones who are creating the chaos for ourselves.
Have we ever stopped to wonder, what might happen if we all just decided to live by the Golden Rule, love one another and treat each other with respect? What if the presence of God was the most important things in our lives, and not money, or politics or skin color? If we did these things, the world would enter into an immediate state of healing and calm.
All of our lives, we have been taught to look to those exterior things to make us happy. We have been trained to looked to big Industries, the media and government personalities to make our world a better place. But that elusive happiness and better day has still not come to fruition.. 2020 has been a stark example how these past ideologies have failed us time and time again. Perhaps in 2021, we will adapt a better strategy and learn from the ancient mystics and sages and cease clinging to what is dividing and destroying us all.
