The old Orange Plaza Mall, in Middletown New York, stood from 1972 to 1992. It was a place that I grew up visiting on weekends and scurrying through during holidays to do Christmas shopping. Over time, the old mall became obsolete as new shops and stores began to crowd the landscape of our town. The orange Plaza became a place that I used to go to with my friends to a place where I walked alone with a hand held tape recorder dictating my poetry in my early writing days. It seemed with the fall of the old mall, life and Times had changed. This is a poem about those times... back then.
