WORSHIPPING A RELIGION

    Many people claim to be spiritual or religious. But how many of them seem to actually worship their religion over that of the Divine Spirit? Some individuals exalt their religious leaders, favorite doctrines, Dogma, denominations and religion over anything else. They claim that they have the one true faith, and all outside of their religion are doomed. They may speak of faith, peace, love and goodness. But many times, their actions are that of division, judgment and criticism. And then there are the religious leaders who tell their followers how to believe and live their lives. Some of them have very dark and hateful teachings and lead those who adhere to them astray. Much like the people who blow up buildings, strap bombs to themselves and drive cars down busy streets to try and kill innocent civilians. As one who has studied many religions in his life, I can tell you this, there is no such commandment in the Quran. This is the commandment of men, very depraved men. Perhaps it is time for some of us to reevaluate our spirituality. Are we truly worshipping the Divine, or a mere religion?
