Religion tells us how to interact with the Divine, but a relationship just unfolds naturally. Think of the person you have known the longest in your life and are the closest to. What if someone suddenly came along and gave you a set of rules on how to interact with that person, would you blindly follow them? And what if those rules painted a picture of the person's personality that was inaccurate in many ways, would you accept that information? Relationship is something that two individuals have through personal interaction with one another. Religion, although interesting in many ways, is someone's thought's about another's personality... but did they really get to know the person?
