THE DEATH CARD

    When it comes to the Tarot, many people are a bit unnerved when the Death card shows up in a spread. And some individuals will completely avoid Tarot cards in fear that the card of death will show up and cut their lives short. But these fears are completely unwarranted. The death card generally does not depict an actual physical death. In 99.9 percent of the cases, the death card means that change is coming, putting away the old and making room for the new. It can mean the death of a relationship or job that no longer serves you. It can mean that there is a destructive or negative habit or attitude within yourself that has to be done away with or put to death.. There are many such ways in which we can interpret the Death card that does not mean a physical death is going to occur. The only way in which the Death card can depict an actual death is if someone were getting a reading on their gravely ill relative or friend who had already been diagnosed by their doctor as terminal. Then the cards could certainly pick up on what the medical community already knows and discussed with the family; or in some cases, the cards may show what the doctor is about to tell the family about their loved ones condition after a battery of tests. The Tarot is not a medical tool, nor does it bring death and doom. It is a tool that is best used in areas of life that promote spiritual and personal growth.

    So as you can now see, the rider who is death in the Tarot is not the Grim Reaper or the bringer of bad tidings. He is simply a messenger of change.

 



THE TAROT

    When it comes to the Tarot, many people have a lot of reservations and even fears. They imagine old women sitting at a table with a crystal ball predicting doom, death and despair for their unfortunate client. Others believe the Tarot to be some kind of satanic, fortune telling tool that goes against the will of God and brings demons to your door. The list could go on I'm sure of the suspicions and fears many have about the Tarot. But the truth is, the Tarot is none of these things. Tarot cards are less of a fortune telling tool and more of a guidance system. Their rich imagery tells a story and that story is the tale of each of our lives. The Tarot does stimulate the intuition of the psychic and therefore does give greater insight into current events and even glimpses what the outcome may be. But more importantly, it offers guidance and steps that we can take to improve our lives, avoid pitfalls and help us make better decisions. The Tarot is a well rounded tool that gives us insight and brings light into the darkness. It is not a satanic oracle that eclipses the light with its gloom and evil. "But what about that Death Card?" You may ask. Well, we'll talk more about that very feared card on tomorrow's blog.

CONFESSIONS OF A MAD WRITER

    As many of you already know, I am an author and like to dabble in various genres. My works span from poetry to horror to the metaphysical. It was recently suggested to me that perhaps I should put out my horror projects under a different author name, like many other writers have done. Authors sometimes create these new names because the consensus is that most people can't compute or handle a writer who dips his pen into too many subjects. Thus I had decided to take this sage advice and release my up coming book under a new name which was Devin Graves... I'm sure some of you remember the name from my blog.

     I thought it would be fun to create an alter ego like some writers do and be a totally different person in the horror realm... But in the end... I hated it. It was enough work being one writer, let alone two. I trashed Devin Graves and sent him to the literary grave and reclaimed my work as my own. And as far as the sage advice goes, I say to blazes with it. I think people can wrap their brains around a writer who dips his pen in several different genres. Therefore I blog to you today, these confessions of a mad writer.

METAMORPHOSIS

     Ever since I was a kid, I had thoughts and ideas that were very pagan. I didn't know that they were pagan then because I was too young to know what a pagan was. As I got older, I found out that there were many ancient people's that had similar spiritual ideas that I had pretty much all my life. I have no idea where I got these thoughts from but they were my true nature none the less. Of course when I was exposed to mainstream religion later on in life, I was told that these things were evil and from the devil. But as time went on, I yielded more to my true self than to popular opinion. Thus little by little, over time, I began to come out of my spiritual shell. I think the last year was really the final mile to walk as I shed all vestiges of the spiritual past and became the individual I always truly was. The transformation had become official and compete this past weekend. Thus the world is a different place for me than it was even a week ago... and even the blog has changed.... again :-)

     Needless to say, the corners of life have been swept clean and my authentic self is no longer mixed with ideologies that do not fit into the matrix of my soul. Anyone who has ever taken such a journey knows that it takes time to detoxify from the programming of fear based religion; especially when you were exposed to it at a very young age. But hey, the adventure is worth it... and what would we be as human beings without a mountain to climb or a dragon to conquer? Welcome to the Nocturnal Moonscape... I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
