    Who says that God has to be an angry, bearded man on a throne? Why could not the Divine embody feminine qualities as well? It may be hard for our Western culture to accept, but the idea of a Goddess predates the male God by thousands of years. Many cultures have believed and still do believe in the Goddess... Even the Hebrew God Jehovah once had a female counter part. But sadly, the Goddess was pushed aside and replaced by strictly masculine Gods by male dominated societies for a number of reasons that we will not get into here. Needless to say, there is more to the Divine than meets our mortal eyes... and ideas.

AN INCREDIBLE UPDATE!

    It is true... for some of us it has been a long, cold winter. Spring has sprung and temperatures have yet to reach their normal high for more than a couple days at a time. Summer has not even begun yet and it seems it will be over before we know it. No one wants another cold and stormy winter too soon.

   But what is the good news in all of this? We're over half way to Halloween! Love that day!!!! :-)

STUDYING, IMPROVING AND CREATING

    Last week I was absent on the blog because I had taken a week of new study on the Tarot. The images on the cards are very rich and there is much there to delve into. The more one knows about the cards, the better his/her readings will be... 

    I have also been hard at work developing my own healing system that is akin to Reiki. I am very excited about this new venture and will probably write a book about it in the near future. As I worked on this new system, I wanted it to be something that could be used in healing but also in manifestation and magick works. I am looking forward to sharing more about this in the weeks ahead. It has been a worthwhile week of study, improving and creating!

UNMASKING PSYCHIC MYTHS PART 4 - THE CURIOSITY FACTOR

    As we learned earlier this week, a psychic reading is an energetic exchange between two people. If you have a real need, are personable, friendly and open; a psychic will have no trouble connecting with you and giving you a meaningful reading. But if you are just a curiosity seeker, someone looking to prove a point or smug and doubtful, a psychic will sense this and not be able to access your energy. It is like inviting a friend over but keeping the front door locked once they arrive. Your friend may knock and knock but if you expect them to prove their friendship by walking through solid walls and stand in the middle of your living room... it will just not happen. I have always found that when someone with a legitimate need comes to me for a reading, everything goes extremely well and the reading is awesome. But if someone comes in just for giggles or tries to set me up to fail, (and this does happen believe it or not,) the reading is stiff and labored; almost like pushing through a dense wall. A psychic reading is very much a two way street, you get out of it just what you put into it... and isn't that how most things in the universe work anyway?

UMASKING PSYCHIC MYTHS PART 3 - ARE ALL PSYCHICS THE SAME?

    Another myth that is common when it comes to psychics is that all psychics operate the same way. The question is often asked by people, "what do you see for me?" The more abrasive person who may not like the way a reading is going may grumble, "you're not psychic at all, I don't think you see anything!" And of course, they would be right, not all psychics "see" things. There are a wide range of gifts that psychic may possess and different ways in which they get their information, which are:

Clairvoyance - This is the gift of "clear seeing" and is the one that most people are familiar with. Someone who is clairvoyant sees pictures, images, visions etc and are the psychics who literally see into the circumstances of your life.

Clairaudience - This is the gift of "clear hearing." Someone who is clairaudient does not see visions or images, but rather hears the information during a reading via an inner voice, spirit guides, angelic beings and so forth.

Clairsentience - This is the gift of "clear feeling." The clairsentient neither sees or hears their information when doing a reading, but rather senses it through an inner knowing or strong intuition.

Mediums - Mediums generally employ the help of spirits in their readings.

Diviners and Fortune tellers - Diviners and fortune tellers generally posses one of the other psychic gifts to some degree, but mostly rely on such things as Tarot cards, Runes etc to obtain their psychic information.

Aura readers - Aura readers have the ability to see the human energy field and do their readings based on the colors of your aura.

Intuits - Intuits are just that, people with incredibly strong and keen intuition. When an intuit does a reading, they generally get strong feelings about situations in your life and have a "knowing" about how things will turn out.

    The list could go on and on of the various abilities that psychics have, and some psychics posses more that one of these gifts. But not all psychics read the same way. In the future, it might be a good idea to talk to your psychic about what gifts they possess and get a full understanding about how they read. This will enhance the reading experience for both you and the psychic.

UNMASKING PSYCHIC MYTHS PART 2

    Today we'll talk about the notion that some people have that a psychic should be able to tell you why you came to them for a reading.  Many individuals consider it a bad reading if they have to utter a peep about why they came to a psychic in the first place... but can a psychic tell you why you came to them without you saying a word?

    Again, this can happen and if a particular psychic reads the cards, the cards will eventually touch on the main issue at hand. But I have to repeat once again, psychic are not super heroes or gods; they are mostly people with a heightened sense of intuition. Imagine if a friend of yours walked into your home and asked you point blank, "so what's the answer to my problem?" You simply ask, "what problem are you having?" Your friend looks at you with annoyance and says, "you're not a real friend, your a fraud! You should know what my problem is without me having to say a word!" Think about it, you would probably think the person was a little off their rocker... And yet this is a situation most psychics face every day at least once or twice.

    In reality, a psychic reading is an energetic exchange between two people. The more open and honest you are, the more the psychic will be able to connect with you and see deeper into how your situation will play out. This does not mean that you have to walk into a psychic's office and spill your guts about every detail... but be polite, open and ready to communicate on a person to person basis. If you are smug, doubtful and prepared to play guessing games all day; chances are that the psychic will not be able to connect with you very well, or at all, and the reading will suffer greatly. Remember, a psychic reading is a two way street of giving and receiving. What logical person would walk into their doctor's office and expect him to diagnose them without being willing to tell him/her their symptoms? The principle is pretty much the same when you go to visit a psychic.
